General Conditions of Use (GCU)

1 - Introduction

These General Terms of Use (GTU) govern access to and use of the Weekly Africa News website (hereinafter referred to as “the Site”). By accessing and using this Site, you unconditionally accept these GTU. If you do not accept these conditions, we invite you not to use the Site.

2 - Object

The Site aims to disseminate quality information and analyses, while
respecting journalistic standards and regulations in force. It also offers
advertising spaces and sponsored content, in accordance with the
rules of social networks such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram), LinkedIn and X
(formerly Twitter).

3 -Acceptance of Terms

By using the Site, the user declares to have read these T&Cs and
accepts them fully and without reservation. The Site reserves the right to
modify or supplement these T&Cs at any time, without notice, with the modifications
applying as soon as they are published.

4 - Access to the Site

Access to the Site is free and unlimited for any user with Internet access. However, the Site reserves the right to restrict or modify access to certain sections, in particular those reserved for advertisers or sponsored content, according to editorial or commercial needs.

8 - Advertising and Sponsored Content

8.1. Presentation of Advertisements

The Site may distribute advertising content, including ads in the form of
banners, sponsored articles or other advertising formats. This content is
produced in compliance with the rules set by the partner social networks,
in particular:

● Meta (Facebook, Instagram): Compliance with advertising guidelines,
including verification of the accuracy of information, prohibition of misleading
content and compliance with community standards

● LinkedIn: Compliance with advertising policies aimed at ensuring professional and ethical
communication, without discriminatory or misleading content.

● X (Twitter): Adherence to the platform rules regarding the
transparency of ads, the authenticity of sponsored content and
compliance with the limitations imposed by the regulations in force.

8.2. Diffusion Terms

Advertising content is clearly identified as such. Advertisers
contractually agree to comply not only with the Site’s T&Cs, but
also with the specific rules of partner social networks. In the event of
non-compliance, the Site reserves the right to immediately remove any
content or advertisement concerned.

8.3. Advertising Liability

The Site acts as an intermediary and cannot be held responsible for the advertising practices of third parties. However, it undertakes to carry out regular checks to ensure compliance with the standards in force and to collaborate with the platforms concerned to guarantee the transparency and reliability of the advertisements broadcast.

10 - Compliance with Social Media Advertising Standards and Rules

In order to ensure that content is distributed in full compliance with the standards
of the main social platforms, Weekly Africa News undertakes to:

● Implement internal procedures to verify that all advertisements
comply with the requirements of Meta, LinkedIn and X.

● Regularly inform its advertisers of changes in the advertising
policies of partner platforms.

● Collaborate with experts and regulatory bodies to ensure that
sponsored content remains compliant with ethical and legal standards.

● Offer users the possibility to report any advertising content deemed non-compliant, which will be reviewed and, if necessary, removed as soon as possible.

11. Changes to the T&Cs

Weekly Africa News reserves the right to modify at any time and without notice
these T&Cs in order to adapt them to changes in the Site and/or
applicable regulations. The modifications will be applicable as soon as they are published
on the Site. The user is invited to regularly consult the version in force.

12. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These T&Cs are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute relating to their
interpretation or execution, the French courts shall have sole jurisdiction,
subject to a prior amicable agreement.
